I am part of the Making Colorado Youth Ambassador Program and this blog is here to promote Adams County and all of its wonders.

The Rocky Mountain Arsenal Wildlife Refuge has already been featured on my blog, but it is one of the greatest examples of conservation and nature in Adams County. It is home to over 350 species of animal, many of which are endangered. You can hike through the refuge too, there are 9 miles of hiking trails through the park, as well as catch-and-release fishing and great photography of the animals!

Enzo’s Italian Restaurant is a delicious, family-owned eatery in Westminster. It is unique not only because of the wonderful food they serve, but because they bring in local jazz bands from all around the area to play, mixing two cultures into one awesome restaurant.

The Adams County regional park is a local favorite for outdoor recreation. With two fishing lakes, a long bike path around the lakes and along the South Platte River, a playground, and picnic areas, there’s endless fun for everyone!

Barr Lake is one of Adams County’s best places to go bird watching. It is home to waterfowl, songbirds, and the great bald eagle. It also has an easy, flat hike around the lake where everyone can enjoy the beauty!

Adams County is independent in that it is the mixing pot of Colorado. It contains a blend of cultures, from industrial to rural and everything in between, a unique art scene, and a variety of people with their own ideas and values, all benefiting the area and its citizens.
